What's on and When

We guarantee that there will be something to entertain and inspire you at this event whatever your dreams or ambitions.  Organisations will be offering activities that could range from a wheel change challenge to get you ready for a career in automotives, how to apply theatrical make up for those seeking a creative career, cooking up a storm to see if you have what it takes to stand the heat in the kitchen or testing if you have the fitness levels for working in the leisure industry.

Opening Times

Wednesday 10 October 10am – 3pm
Thursday 11 October 10am – 1pm

Individuals can visit at any time during the two days. Click 'Book Your Place' to register.

Groups of more than 10 can select one of the three time slots that will help us stagger visits throughout the day.

10am until 11:30am, 11:30am until 1pm or 1pm until 3pm. Click 'Book Your Group' to register.

The heat is on
Is catering the ideal career for you? Join in the fun with the Academy Nathan Outlaw at Cornwall College by making your own kebabs and decorating cupcakes.

Feeling fit?
Have you ever wondered how heavy military back packs are? Well visit the Army’s stand and find out. Whilst you are there, have a go at a training activity and see modern day weaponry up close.

Trust your senses
Cornwall Agri-food Council will be testing your sight and smell whilst teaching you about additives in food. Take the hazard test and see how well you understand the importance of a clean food manufacturing environment.

Row, row, row your boat
Find your competitive spirit and take part in a rowing machine pace trial with Cornwall Marine Network.

Mix it up
Do you see yourself as the next big DJ? Find dBs Music and learn how to make electronic music using CDs and ipads, all with help from the experts.

Light it up
Is your brain wired up for a career in electrics? DCET Training will be hosting an interactive quiz on their stand. There is also an opportunity to get hands-on and make your own two way light switch.

Skip a beat
Take part in health screenings. Heart rate checks, body fat and blood pressure tests with Duchy College and The Falmouth Marine School.

Strike a pose
Put on your best smile, grab a prop from the box and jump in the photo booth with Fixers UK. Use the props to discuss current issues with the experts.

Build your future
Try out your building skills with the Royal Institute of British Architects. Use lego, elastic bands and even spaghetti to create your own masterpiece. Feel free to trial Google Sketch-up and find out more about a career in architecture.

All aboard!
Jump on the ship simulator provided by Careers at Sea and learn what it feels like to navigate different ships.

Surf’s up
Do you see yourself as the next top designer? Why not start here and design a t-shirt for a major surfboard brand with Treviglas Business, Surf and Technicians’ Academies.
When your T-shirt is complete ride a wave yourself with the surfboard challenge.

Hands on
Whether you want beautiful nails and hair or if you prefer mechanics and engine oil, Truro & Penwith College have it all for you. Watch amazing beauty demos on mannequins and visitors or try making and taking apart vehicle elements in a time challenge. Drive yourself into a gorgeous new career!

Workshop Corner
Pop over to this dedicated area where during the event interesting talks from the experts will take place. Check out the poster for a full list of times and topics but look at for the interactive workshops on theatrical make-up and nails by Cornwall College. These are not to be missed.

Don’t worry if you are still unsure what direction to take, experts will be on hand giving information, advice and guidance on a range of subjects.  Whether you want to know the best route, how to compile a winning CV or some interview tips, there will be someone to help you.
